Most women go back to their abusers, because the shelters treat them like they deserved their abuse, because the life in a shelter is like prison, they have curfews, tell you when to go to sleep, when to eat, they force you to go through mandatory meetings. Shelter workers often also look down on the women "who allowed it to happen to them". They make these women feel like they asked for it. You have to share everything with the other residents in the facility and their personal belongings are often stolen. That is not the environment these families need, after having every aspect of their life controlled by their "abuser". "Domestic Violence" is Real and it can happen to anyone. Abuse happens in families of all backgrounds and social status. I want to create a different environment for these families. This will be a Real Home and they will be treated like real family. They will learn to be self sufficient, to grow their own food, express themselves artistically, take care of their body with healthy eating habits, do yoga, expand their knowledge in whatever they wish, get an education to improve their life, regain their self confidence and learn how to take care of/pamper themselves again. They will be helped through sessions with Me, Paul & Eileen (my dear friends and therapists/healers) to cope with, accept and get past, their experiences and then to thrive in the life ahead. Serenity Home for Domestic Violence Victims

Being a survivor myself, I want to help other women and their children transition in to a safe and serene life. I am collecting donations to purchase a home for domestic violence victims which will enable these families to transition with dignity. Abuse happens in families of all backgrounds and social status.
